I paid for Media Player and all was working well on my Tomtom One XL. But, the SD card that came with it didn't allow for much space (even after uninstalling all the voices etc) so I went out and bought larger 4 gig SD card.

I put it in Tomtom and everything was locking up. I just couldn't get to see it as a drive.

I then went to take it out and put the original card back in and my Tomtom has locked up. It just shows the screen with the cable connected with the 'X' on it. I can't turn it off or anything. Totally locked.

Is there a reset button anywhere?

How can I get my £200 Tomtom working again? It's frozen solid!

OK, panic over. I found the reset switch on the bottom.

Also the 4 gig card I had was duff. I took it back to the shop and it froze their computer and it wouldn't work on their card reader. I have now replaced it with a 2 gig Kingston SD card and it is working fine. I copied all the files over to the new card in Windows and now got space to load up a few full size movies.

It's all part of the learning curve lol biggrin.gif

There are compatibility issues with Tomtoms (and many other devices) when trying to use SD (SDHC) memory cards of greater than 2GB.. See here:

I also bought a 4 gb SD-card (not SDHC) from Technaxx. The standard SD-specifiations only allow 2 gb, that's the problem. SDHC cards can have up to 32 gb but need devices that support it, which can be recognized by the SDHC-logo near the slot.

I'l never use the 4 gb SD-Card again, since I had 2 times data loss on my video camera and corrupt files on tomtom.

Alternative will be to use a separate SD card for Media Center only without any TomTom map on it. Please read this forum, it's explained here how to do that
