Hi!!

I just bought the TomTom Media Center product and am very very happy with it!

I have been playing with video editing and converting for a while now,
and I want to be able to convert my own videos to play on my TomTom720
using other tools other than the included TomTom Media Converter.

My question is, what codec and what parameters are required for .avi files to be played with the TomTom media Center.

I tried using mencoder, FFMPEG code with MPEG4,
no Qualter Pixels, and other fancy stuff, just the basic video,
but TomTom Media Center will not play it.

Could you please let me know what settings could be used?

Thx!

Hi, buddy,

In fact, I also just bought this software and install it to my Tomtom One XL, the installation process is too complex and the software's compatibility is toooo weak. Even though the AVI file can not be transfered and played successfully. Till now, I just transfer one mov file..... really frustrated. sad.gif sad.gif sad.gif sad.gif sad.gif

I am not sure of the answer but I was able to transfer one video I took with my digital camera (did edit it in a Magix product since the video needed to be rotated 90 degrees) and moved it directly to the video folder and it played.

Gspot says:

Bitrate 506
fps 10
qf 1.308 bits/pixel
xvid

mpeg-1 layer mp3
128 lb/s cb (2 mono channels)
fs 44100Hz

I am going to try moving the original over and will report back....

MM .. OK, so it can play some type of Xvid ..

Thx for the hint!

Please use converter to convert your videos. Other video types might not be supported.
For video settings, please search the forum, this was asked and explained so many times already...
